So about three days ago i started having freezing issues and game crashing.

About a month ago i built a new PC.

Specs are

MOBO MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4

CPU 17 14700k

mastercooler 360

GPU 2080 super

Disk. 2 m.2 500g

MEMORY  4x8 gskill ripjaps

PSU EVGA 750g2 80 gold

windows 11 pro

Every time i try and play fortnite it crashes. when i monitor the usage it dosnt seem like anything is spiking or causing the crash. I reinstalled the game and windows. FRESH WIPE even.

I used MSI AIDA64 extreme to stress test all components. CPU passed stress test alone. GPU passed stress test. Disk drives passed. Memory passed. But when i test the FPU or the caches it fails stress test and says hardware failure test stopped.

IM have zero idea what to do here. CPU has been installed for less than a month everthing wroked fine untill two days ago.

PLEASE HELP

Hello TravisW

The fact that your system passes individual component stress tests but fails the FPU and cache tests suggests a possible issue with the CPU's ability to handle complex calculations or with the memory subsystem, particularly when under heavy load. Are you using DX12 features on your GPU? I have seen several customers here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/477511/dx12-crashes-on-fortnite/ that they tried contacting NVIDIA CS and this is what they told to them: Open NVIDIA control panel->look for the help tab. Press debug mode. Click on apply.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Update BIOS: Ensure your motherboard's BIOS is up-to-date. Manufacturers often release updates that can improve stability and compatibility.

2. Check Memory Timings: Verify that your memory timings in the BIOS match the specifications recommended by G.Skill for your RAM model

3. Adjust DRAM Voltage: If the memory timings are correct, you might try slightly increasing the DRAM voltage in small increments, without exceeding manufacturer recommended values.

4. Disable XMP: If you're using XMP (Extreme Memory Profile), try disabling it and test the system stability. XMP can sometimes cause instability if the rest of the system can't handle the increased speeds

5. Test RAM: Use tools like memtest86 to check for memory errors.Faulty RAM can cause a variety of issues, including the ones you're experiencing

6. Fortnite-Specific Troubleshooting: For Fortnite crashes, Epic Games recommends verifying game files, updating video drivers, disabling background applications, and repairing Visual C++ Redistributables

By the way, Is this the error crash you encounter?

I've been having this error for a month now, I've tried everything, and now all I can think is that my CPU is one of the Intel i7 14700kf ones affected and I should ask for a replacement, or is there a solution and I'm lucky that it's not that?

That photo you posted is exactly the error I have, when I want the game to exit and leave that message.
