Processor showing error code 37 in device manager

Hello.

I had a fight with a virus named Simda on my computer, and after removing it with Windows' own virus scanner, the computer has been acting weird. For example, the laptops own keyboard and mouse aren't working and windows doesn't detect the batttery.

I'm trying to troubleshoot the error, and right now, I've located that one of the errors is that in device manager, my processor is showing error code 37.

I've tried to re-install the driver with the installation tools in download center with no luck.

Is there a way to fix this, or a way to re-install this driver?

My processor is "Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T2390 @ 1.86GHz" and I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit.

The only driver that exist for a processor is the graphics driver for those that contain an Intel(R) HD Graphics controller.

Microsoft lists the processor to have a driver, as it is the way they make the Operating System to recognize the processor.

From the processor side, what we can recommend you is making sure it is being properly recognized by the system BIOS. Therefore, you may want to see if your motherboard BIOS is recognizing your processor as it should. Since the error in question is merely related to an Operating System issue, we recommend you contacting Microsoft* for further assistance.

Best option would be performing a fresh installation of the Operating System.
