you will need to contact HP to find out which CPUs are compatible with teh motherboard BIOs, if they can't provide that info you will need to look at the higher models of your laptop and see what CPUs they use. The reason that aprt form having to be compatible with FSB oscket etc, the motherboard BIOS needs teh correct microcode for that PCU otherwise teh chacnes ar it won't be recognised properly.
