Hi!
I assembled a new pc on Monday with intel i-5 8400 cpu. It worked great until this Friday when it just suddenly stopped working. Motherboards debug light tells me taht the problem is indeed in the cpu.
Are there some common mistakes which I might have done building the pc that would void my warranty? I didn't overclock the cpu and I'm certain that I installed it correctly as it worked for a few days.

Who is to say that the motherboard has failed and is misreporting a processor failure?
Common mistakes? Incorrectly applied thermal paste? Failing power supply?
If you have access to another processor, try that.

Thanks for the answer.
The power supply seems to be fine. The paste is not overflowing and seems to correctly cover the area.
Unfortunately I can´t get another processor to test with.
Should I return it to seller and try to get it on warranty?
