QSV: Does install something to use it?

Hi,
My old Intel Core i7-2700K (Sandy Bridge) supports QSV:

h.264 --> encoding/decoding
h.265 --> not supported

So, I would like encode/decode video using h.264 with QSV and FFMPEG.

Does I need to install somethings on my Windows 10 x64 to use QSV?

To answer the question, Intel does not support for the use of 2nd generation Core and earlier processors with Windows 10. Specifically, Intel does not provide Windows 10 graphics drivers for 2nd generation Core and earlier processors.

Microsoft provides a compatibility driver that allows the graphics engines in older processor (and chipset) generations to continue to be utilized, but this driver has a significant number of performance and compatibility issues and, as you have seen, its support for the various Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) - DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL, etc. - is woefully out of date. Microsoft has stated that this driver is frozen (i.e., no updates will be forthcoming) and that they will not entertain any requests for such updates.
