Quad processor and Vista 64 bit

I have just bought a desktop with a quad processor and running on Vista 64 bit with 6 memory RAM.

Could you pls indicate the parameters (registry for example) to be configured to get the best out of the quad core. I use Adobe Premiere CS4, After effects and Photoshop.
