In a motherboard supporting four DDR2 DIMM sockets, using DDR2 667 or DDR2 533 DIMMs, a total of 8GB can be achieved using four 2GB DIMMs. If using DDR2 800 memory, on the other hand, only two DIMMs can be supported and thus a maximum of only 4GB is possible.
