Hi,
My computer shuts down after a prolonged period of use (say: 24 hours). What I noticed is that all fans, hard discs etc are still running but my CPU fan stopped spinning. My only way to get this back working is by turning the power switch off, wait 10 seconds and then everything is back to normal. My CPU is a i7 860.
I installed a tool to monitor the CPU temperature and right before the shutdown the temperature is normal. My BIOS settings are factory default (no overclocking) and I've run the Windows 7 Memory Diagnostics twice without issues.
This could be a memory, cpu, cpu cooler, psu or motherboard issue, but I already replaced the memory without success.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks
Mark

You need to monitor the CPU temps , this may be a overheat shut down. Do you know what temps the CPU has been running at ??
