Reduction in processing after upgrade

So I had an old I-5 CPU and have recently upgraded to an I-7 6700K and have for some reason seen a decrease in processing across all tasks, especially in games such as Overwatch where I'm incapable of handling the game at the lowest settings. I've tried updating CPU and GPU drivers, ensuring that the integrated graphics card is not the primary graphics engine, I've taken out and reset the GPU itself, I've taken out and put back the CMOS battery, and nothing has yielded any results at all with improving the performance. Any assistance that can be provided will be greatly appreciated.
