Hello,

I've had a problem about install the Fedora 19 on Intel Skylake i7-6600U platform. On the other hand, the Ubuntu 15.10 has been installed successfully.

So i would like to know is the Skylake CPU well supported by the Linux kernel 3.9? or i need a newer Linux kernel in order to running Intel Skylake i7-6600U properly?

Hi LINYS,

I understand you have laptop computer with an Intel® Core™ i7-6600U Processor and need information for operating system compatibility with Fedora 19. Let me help you on this matter.

Please bear in mind that your processor is operating system independent. This means you will be able to install any operating system (Windows® or Linux*) available out there.

My recommend would be checking with Linux* distribution for compatibility information https://fedoraforum.org/ https://fedoraforum.org/

Regards,

Allan J

You need at least Linux Kernel 4.3 to have Skylake support.
