Can you provide more details, it should work there are people running XP x64.

What errors do you see?

I know, It should work. It says some thing like " The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you`re runing. Check your computer system info to see whether you need an x86 or x64 version of the program, and then contact the sofware publisher"

are you sure you're not trying to install the Itanium-64 version of Windows XP?

this processor will only work with the x64 version of windows xp (as long as the motherboard isn't causing the problem).

the Itanium version XP is usually refered to as IA64 version. you need to use the x64 version.

That message you get when using the 64bit installer in 32bit windows.

Try booting off the CD and see what happens.
