TDP-down in watts for "T" type core processors

Hello,

I want to know TDP-down in watts for intel core "T – Power-optimized lifestyle" processors.

Used ark.intel for spec. lookup.

TDP-down frequency is always specified but no TDP-down value in watts:

At least these two:

i3-7300T

TDP 35 W

Base frequency 3.50 GHz

TDP-down frequency 2.50 GHz

i3-7100T

TDP 35 W

Base frequency 3.40 GHz

TDP-down frequency 2.40 GHz

Thanks,

Vilius M.

Hello vilius2: We will do our best to provide the information you are looking for.

The TDP is a fixed design parameter since the heatsink should be able to dissipate at least that amount of power. If the processor reduce its frequency and power dissipation for any reason, it will be unnecessary to use different TDPs values.

Any questions, please let me know.

In general you are right. Never the less CPU thermal management can maintain different TDP or max turbo bust than default factory setting. Sometime it is important for some design to limit TDP. For many CPU Intel provides information about lowered TDP and frequency such CPU can work. It is specifically called TDP-down. Even if it is very workload dependent.

Example:

My point is that processor spec. are inconsistent - some provide TDP-down value in watts(like Gorbush pointed out) some don't - I expect this info especially for T type cpus.

vilius2: Thank you very much for your comments and your feedback on this regard.

I just received an update on this matter and the value should be showing up in our web site very soon. The TDP-down value in watts should be set to 25W:
