Tweak a i9-11900K so it has same power usage / TDP as i9-11900T?

I already have a i9-11900K on hand.
I'd like to have i9-11900T power usage...
Is there a way to tweak / Underclock / Downclock the CPU so the i9-11900K behaves like a i9-11900T in terms of energy consumption ?

I want to build a home server. It'll run 24/7. So I'd like the electricity bill to be minimal as possible. I also want to have plenty of power to spare, hence the i9.

The i9-11900T has a base clockspeed of 1.5Ghz and a TDP of 35W. It as a Passmark of 21691.
The i9-11900K has a base clockspeed of 3.5Ghz and a TDP of 125W. It as a Passmark of 25688.

It really depends on the board you are installing it into and the capabilities offered by its BIOS for configuring the processor. It's probably better to purchase a board and processor specifically for this (home server) purpose that it is to waste a higher-end Desktop processor on this.

Hi ...S,

I totally understand your point about right-sizing the processor and motherboard. I plan to run multiple VMs on that server. I was looking for a processor with as many cores as possible.  And I already have the i9 on hand. So that's why I'm exploring my options with this one. If I can lower it's power usage it'll be a bonus.

So for example, if I buy a z590 board from Asus, I'll be able to tweak the CPU.

Is only changing PL1 and PL2 enough to make the i9-11900K behave like a i9-11900T? Or is there other settings that could be fiddled with?

When idling, how low can the i9-11900K clockspeed go?  As low as the 1.5Ghz base clockspeed of the i9-11900T? Lower?

No, being able to change PL1 and PL2 should be sufficient for this. You can use it to lower the clock multiplier used at different times.

Just purchase a Raspiberry Pi and you can have everything.  I'm running my webserver on mine plus a NAS server.  It handles everything without a problem.
