i bought a (MSI MPG Z890 EDGE TI + ULTRA 9 285K + ICUE H150 ELITE),
after assembling, when i start the pc it functions normally for 2,3~ seconds, after that the cpu fans start flashing red and working at full RPM, and in bios the cpu temperature goes from 30c to 90~100c in just a few seconds, i instantly turned of the pc, triple checked everything, fans, connectors..etc, everything looks fine.
what could possibly be wrong? any ideas?

Hi AliS,

Thank you for posting in the Community.

Based on your description, it seems that the CPU temperature is rapidly increasing from 30°C to 90-100°C within seconds of starting the PC. To assist you more effectively, I recommend the following steps:

  • Verify Cooler Installation:
  • Please ensure that the ICUE H150 ELITE cooler is properly seated and making good contact with the CPU. Check the thermal paste application to ensure there is adequate coverage and no air gaps.
  • Check Cooler Functionality:
  • Make sure the cooler's pump is functioning correctly and that there is no blockage in the cooling loop. You may want to test with a different cooler if the issue persists to rule out a cooler malfunction.
  • Run Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU):
  • To better understand the temperature behavior, please run the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) and monitor the CPU temperature. You can download XTU from the Intel website here: Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU).
  • Instructions for XTU:
  1. Download and install the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility from the link above.
  2. Launch the application and navigate to the "Stress Test" section.
  3. Select "CPU Stress Test" and run it for a few minutes while monitoring the temperature.
  4. Take a photo of the temperature readings during the test and share it with us for further analysis.

  • BIOS Update:
  • Have you tried updating the BIOS for your MSI MPG Z890 EDGE TI motherboard? A BIOS update can sometimes resolve hardware compatibility issues. You can find the latest BIOS update on the MSI support page here: MSI MPG Z890 EDGE TI BIOS Update.
  • I recommend reaching out to MSI for assistance with the BIOS update, as they have the expertise and knowledge specific to your motherboard model. Let me know if the issue still persists.

Additionally, could you please provide some additional information?

  • Previous Functionality: Was the system working correctly before, or is this a new issue?
  • Troubleshooting Steps: Have you tried any other troubleshooting steps so far? Knowing what you've already attempted will help us avoid repeating steps and focus on new solutions.
  • Recent Changes: Were there any recent changes to your system configuration before the issue occurred?

Your insights and the requested data will be invaluable in helping us resolve the issue. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out. I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,
