I'd like to upgrade my cpu (E4300, 1.8Ghz Core 2 Duo, 800Mhz, LGA 755), but I'm unsure what would be compatable with my m'brd. I have a Dell E520, so not a standard one. Basically I'd like faster cpu with a larger L2 cache to run Dragon Narurally Speaking 10 (I'm not a gamer).
Thanks,
Robert

Hi Pyrrho,
Since this is an OEM board, you will need to check with the board manufacturer for the CPU Compatibility. Once you know which CPU are compatible with your board, you can refer to these website to compare the CPU features and decide which one you can go for.

Thanks for that. But I'm wondering if my DDR2/5300/333Mhz RAM modules will work with the Q6600. I've posted this question on the thread you sent, but it finished in January!

Hi Pyrrho,
The supported memory frequency will also be dependent on the motherboard features. It's all down to the board. Most motherboard will step down the cpu frequency and fsb if you are using lower frequency but the motherboard should support it first of all. It's best to check with Dell for more precise information before you proceed further.
Cheers
