Please don't send me to Samsung support. Samsung doesn't produce laptops anymore and they will not help me.

1) Can I change P7350 to P9700?
2) Where to buy original processor? If it's not possible as of end of the processor production, where to look for reliable "not original" producers? (because there are some in China)
3) Can I change P7350 to one of modern processor?
4) How to check compatibility of processor and BIOS? For example, my BIOS manufacturer is Phoenix Technologies Ltd.

Hello Aladdin,
Through the dumped information, I found the stepping of your processor is M0, in other words, it sits on the socket PGA-478, most likely replaceable. The Core 2 Duo P9700 might be out of the power range of your computer supports. So it might be not able to replace with that processor! Trying it might be dangerous! BIOS is always blind to the processors which could put their power consumptions into the supported range, so I just only suggest you replace your processor with Core 2 Duo P7 series. That might be safest, but everything is AT YOUR OWN RISK!
All those processors are at the phase of end-of-support, so you could only choose the used ones.

Hello Aladdin,
I say Power Support Range, I mean the range of voltage, current and TDP of supported processors for your notebook computer. This information has to be obtained from the Samsung. Even though it is dangerous, and might damage both of your notebook computer and processor itself, trying is another way to get this information. The TDP of http://ark.intel.com/products/36750 P7350 is 25W and voltage range is 1.062V ~ 1.150V; while http://ark.intel.com/products/42599 P9700 has a TDP of 28W, and its voltage range is 1.012V ~ 1.175V. Those minor differences might harm both of them or not at all, nobody knows before contacting Samsung or trying by yourself. But something I could make sure that the situation of burning an old processor on a Socket 370 (Tualatin) mobo rarely happened to current Intel products. But after all, it is the everything AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Janagewen, could that info be get from any progs like Everest, CPU-Z and similar? I mean for example some prog could get this from motherboard, could it?

As far as I know it is impossible to get it from any software, it is always set by the manufacturerers, and controlled by some a specific chip. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Why not just choose the processor you love, and just test it at the vendor and get a direct result? But again, everything is at your own risk! Anyway, I wish you good luck!
