Upgrading to i7 7700 or 7700k

Hi, I want to upgrade my processor (i5 7400) to another LGA1151 socket processor. preferably the i7-7700 or i7-7700k. I would preferably like the 7700k simply because of the power and the 4.2/4.5 gHz but i've heard that the 7700k runs at higher temperatures which will require a powerful CPU cooler. That is why I'm thinking of upgrading to a 7700 but I'm unsure if it has similar temperature ratings. I currently have a cnfn5441u1 CPU cooler (not sure what it's capabilities are but i keeps my i5 7400 running great) I would like to know if which processor would be best if any. If not what other processors would run fine but with similar power to the ones mentioned. Or should i look at changing the CPU cooler before.

Before you can do anything, you must contact the motherboard/system manufacturer and ask them what processors are supported by THEIR BIOS.

Then, you can select from those processors.

That sounds like an answer to me. You should always site the source of such information.
