What driver version do I need to be compatible with the Windows 10 October 2018 Update?

My computer has an Intel Core i5-4460T processor with driver 10.0.17134.1 and a Microsoft/Windows community advises me that I can't get the October 2018 Windows 10 Update until I update the driver.

The Intel HD Graphics 4600 has driver version 20.19.15.5058.

Unless you are severely out-of-date, you should need nothing more than to go here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Your graphics driver is up-to-date. What driver are they talking about?

Just go to the link I provided, UPDATE NOW, sit back and let the update happen. If it gives an error, provide the error with DETAILS.

Also what build of Windows 10 are you using? Be very specific.

Thanks Doc.

Windows version is 1803. OS Build 17134.648.

Microsoft don't supply a reason why I need to update my drivers just that I should because the October update has not been delivered to me - automatic updates are on.

I'll take a backup of my system and try the update on the weekend.

Before you do that, make sure 1803 is updated. Go to Start, settings, Update & Security, Check for updates.

Glad it worked out. Very confused by the advice given by the Microsoft Community. I have done dozens of these updates and upgrades without any issues.

Now that you are on 1809, get ready for 19H1<G>

You should have no trouble. Just use the MICROSOFT link I provided and UPDATE NOW.

This will take some time, so be patient.
