What processor can I use?

I checked my device manager, and i saw 2 chipset names:

1. Mobile Intel(R) 45 Express Chipset Series PCI Express Root Port - 2A41

2. Mobile Intel(R) 45 Express Chipset Series Processor to DRAM Controller - 2A40

Not sure which on i'm using, however I wish to upgrade my processor, I currently have:

Mobile Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26Ghz. 64bit Win7.

What other processor can I use?

Thanks,

Hello,

It is very difficult to suggest any compatible cpu for your oem board.

Based on ark website, the cpu P8400 is compatible with these chipsets, so i would assume that your board will have one of these chipsets.

http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=35569 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=35569

As a reference, you can check the compatible cpus for these chipsets, and then you will need to check with the board manufacturer whether they have validated the cpu and if there s any bios that is required/

All the best,

Kind Regards,

Aryan

Keep in mind that the compatiblity between the processor and the motherboard is determined by the motherboard manufacturer, not by the chipset manufacturer, so I would strongly recommend contacting the motherboard manufacturer, or in this case the laptop manufacturer, for them to provide you a list of supported processors for your laptop system.
