Dear all,

This is Muhilan Veerarasu from India. I have tried to establish one 64-bit kernel at the booting end using CDs/DVDs. I caught all the required exceptions. However PC restarted when i had booted my CD. I used Dual core intel processors. What is the problem and how can i overcome from this problem?

Kindly reply me as soon as possible.

Thanking you.

This does not sound like an Intel problem, but rather a Microsoft problem. Contact Microsoft support.

This is not the microsoft problem. This is my own kernel based on intel platform. Tell me the factors for PC restart problems when 64-bit kernel is tried to establish even though all exceptions were handled? If you are interested, I am ready to forward my assembler source to you.

Thanking you

Your own kernel, eh? Well, you are simply not supported by microsoft or intel. I do not think you can even get help from the linux community.

Keep the assembler. We do not do that here.

Dear all,

I programmed PMC Controller to move PC to S5 soft-off state in 8-series PCH motherboard. From Intel PCH 100-series onwards, It has been moved to new PCI Bus#. Just i had captured ACPI Base address and had moved PC to S5 Soft-off state. Can i do the same for PMC Controller from 100-series onwards. PMC Controller is located at PCI Bus 0,Device 31 Function 2. Upto 8-series PCH, PMC Controller is located at PCI Bus 0,Device 31 Function 0. Can i follow same procedure like in 8-series for PMC controller from 100-series onwards?

Kindly relpy and help me.
