Why is my Intel CPU temperature higher than expected even with adequate cooling?

  1. Thermal Paste Application: The thermal paste between the CPU and cooler might be improperly applied or dried out. Reapply a high-quality thermal paste evenly.

  2. Cooler Installation: Ensure that your cooler is properly mounted and making full contact with the CPU. An uneven cooler mount can lead to poor thermal transfer.

  3. Ambient Temperature: High room temperature can affect CPU cooling performance, as air coolers rely on the surrounding air to dissipate heat.

  4. BIOS Settings: Some motherboards apply aggressive voltage settings by default. Check your BIOS and manually adjust the CPU voltage if it’s higher than necessary.

  5. Dust and Airflow: Dust buildup in your cooler or poor airflow within your case can cause heat to get trapped. Regularly clean your system and arrange cables to optimize airflow.

  6. Background Processes: Excessive background applications or processes might be causing your CPU to work harder, leading to higher temperatures. Use Task Manager to check for any unnecessary processes running.

If none of these factors seem to be the issue, it could be a defect in the CPU or cooler itself.

but its not working for me how to fix it.

Hi BeyondGroupGlobal,

Thank you for posting in the community!

We are sorry to learn that you are experiencing issues with your system. To better assist you and determine the most appropriate resolution, kindly provide us with needed information below:

  1. May I know if this processor is working fine before?
  2. Did you overclock the processor (Noted: We don't recommend overclocking the processor due to it may void the warranty validation of the unit)?
  3. What is the exact make and model of your motherboard?
  4. May I know what BIOS version you are currently running on your system?
  5. What is the make and model of your processor cooler?
