Windows 11 compatibility for Intel Xeon W-2400 processors

For Intel Xeon W-2400 processors (ASUS Pro WS W790-ACE motherboard), do you need Windows 11 Pro for Workstations? Or now the Windows 11 Professional version is sufficient?

In the old version for Intel Xeon W-2200 processors, only Windows 10 Pro for Workstations was supported.

Thanks.

Hello, Dorian,

OS compatibility (or supported operating systems) is not defined by the Intel® Xeon® processor or a server's chipset, but it is dependent on the operating systems supported by the server motherboard or system. The motherboard or system manufacturer will validate certain operating systems with the motherboard or system and provide drivers for the supported operating systems.

Contact your server system or motherboard manufacturer (original equipment manufacturer or OEM) for OS compatibility information. If you encounter issues when using one of the OEM's supported operating systems, ensure that you have the latest BIOS firmware and drivers installed from the OEM: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact-intel.html?tab=system-manufacturers

Best regards,

Allan

Thank you,

Here is the response from ASUS:

We are coming back to you with this email following the return of the dedicated service and we inform you that the card is compatible with Windows 11. So you can upgrade to Windows 11 Pro.

There is therefore no longer any need for a "Workstation" version for Windows.

Best regards,

Dorian
