Hi,
My pc configuration is:
os : windows 7 ultimate 32 bit
Processor :Pentium d 2.66ghz (intel pentium D 805)
Ram : 3gb DDR2 667mhz
HD : Western Digital 80 gb
motherboard : Gigabyte intel 945gz
graphics : intel gma 950
Bios setting: intel thermal Management enabled.
Country: India
Season: Summer, Average maximum temperature : 48 Celsius
My problem is that my windows 7 experience index(WEI) keeps on changing. It changes every time I refresh it. I am unable to understand the cause of this problem because i have not changed any of my hardware configuration. Neither have I installed any software.
The typical WEI fluctuating ratings are
Processor rating from 2.1 - 2.2 -4 - 4.2
graphics rating from : 2.1 -2.3- 2.8
I would like to mention the cpu temperature in bios remains at a average from 70 Celsius to 90 C in winter and summers alike. Also there are some small black spots on the processor pins and the motherboard socket pins.
I am aware the cpu thermal management reduces the processor performance , but the WEI rating fluctuates far to often.
The above reasons result in sluggish performance of the system sometimes and CPU usage going to as high as 90% for simple tasks. i.e. copy -paste, printing etc.
I have tried changing hardisk , but the performance remains same. This also eliminates any chances of virus.
So, Pl's. help me isolate the problem whether it is faulty processor, motherboard or anything else.
Thank you.

Hello;
The maximum temperature for your Pentium D 805 processor must be 64.1°C, if the current temperature is between 70°C and 90°C this means that your processor is overheating, also the black spots on the processor are sign of overheating. Remember that this dark spots are consider physical damage and eventually will damage the processor and desktop board permanently.
In order to solve the overheating problem I recommend, to update the system BIOS, also try to reseat the processor and the fan; also check if your processor is properly detected by your desktop board. For more Troubleshooting information you can check the following URL:

If after performing the previous suggestions check the processor temperature again, if the the problem continues, try the processor on a different desktop board or try another compatible processor on desktop board.
