Hello @DreckBursche

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to check this further, could you please provide more details regarding the issue that you are having?

1- What is the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) software version running on the system?

2- Please elaborate more regarding the overclocking settings. Is overclocking not working at all? What do you mean regarding (a) "CPU won't run my OC settings on BOOT" and (b) "can't run the stable settings from XTU in the BIOS"?

3- Did this configuration work fine before? If yes, was there any recent change related to the point when this behavior started? for instance, Hardware upgrades, Software or Windows updates?

4- To verify the functionality of the processor, please run the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool to perform a test on the CPU. Note: For this test, it is required that there are no overclocking settings set on the motherboard BIOS or on overclocking software. You may need to load BIOS defaults before running this tool. Also, please make sure that you are downloading the proper version (32 or 64 bit) based on your operating system (OS) architecture.

Once the test is done, to save the report, click on "File >> View Results File" and attach the .txt file to your reply.

5- Please run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) and attach the report to this thread to gather more details about your system.

  • Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer
  • Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click Next and click Save.

3. Just swapped to this Motherboard wich I OCed on. But everything stable no Lags or Crashes during LOOOOONG testing

Hello DreckBursche

After checking this further, we would like to provide the following recommendations:

1- Make sure to turn off any Overclocking option/configuration in BIOS, for instance: EZ OC and Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP); and uninstall other third-party tools that can alter system configuration (per example Gigabyte's* App Center).

2- If the issue still persists and Intel® XTU continues reverting the changes on reboot, please test by turning On the Fast Boot option in Windows*. Please follow the steps:

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Click Search.
  3. Type Control Panel and hit Enter on your keyboard.
  4. Click Power Options.
  5. Click Choose what the power buttons do.
  6. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  7. Click Turn on fast startup (recommended) so that the checkmark disappears.
  8. Click Save changes.

Please let us know the outcome of the steps and if there is any difference in the behavior.

Hello @DreckBursche

In case the issue persists, and in addition to the previous steps recommended, could you please provide the following details?

1- What are the exact Intel® XTU settings lost at startup?

We noticed that in your initial post you provided a screenshot with some settings. Are those the settings that you are losing at Startup? Are all of them lost when booting the system? Please provide details of the specific settings that are "not applied at Startup".

2- Please provide a screenshot of the System Information tab in Intel® XTU.

3- Could you please confirm if this is what you are experiencing?

a- If Fast startup is ENABLED:

  • When cold booting (tuning off then on) > no issue
  • When restarting > no issue

b- If Fast startup is DISABLED:

  • When cold booting > this is when the issue happens?
  • When restarting > no issue

Check if you have any performance metering/setting tools such as EasyTune, AppCenter, SystemInfo, etc. (From Gigabyte mainboards) or similar and uninstall all of them.
