Hello Ryuugamine,

I checked the CPU Support list for your motherboard model, and your processor is compatible. You can corroborate that information here; http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/GA-Z270M-D3H-rev-10# support-cpu GA-Z270M-D3H (rev. 1.0) - GIGABYTE - Motherboard , Graphics Card , Laptop ,Tablet , Mini-PC , Server , PC Peripherals …, filter by the processor model and you will find it on the list.

Now that this has been confirmed, we will need to look into it to find the source of the freezing issue. So, please respond to the following;

When does your computer freeze?

What is your RAM brand and model?

Provide your SSU report; https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility Download Intel® System Support Utility. Attach the file once done.

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" in the top right corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear in the bottom right corner of the response box.

Regards,

Amy.

1. When i stress test system by using AIDA 64 or playing games which need more computing power like Witcher 3 or Rust.

2. Kingston Savage DDR4, 8GB(2x4GB), 2133MHz, C13 (HX421C13SBK2/8).

Thank you for that information.

Memory is also compatible, it is listed in the "Memory Support List".

It is normal for the processor to go up when running CPU extensive tasks; however, the freezing issue is not. So, let's try addressing this matter with the following updates;

  • BIOS version F4a
  • Intel Management Engine Interface version 11.6.0.1035
  • Intel INF installation version 10.1.1.38

These files can be found here; http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/GA-Z270M-D3H-rev-10# support-dl

I would like to check a couple of things;

Have you tried playing your games with the recommended settings?

Try unplugging the graphics card, and check the results without it. Also, test one RAM stick.

Please, let me know the results.

Regards,

Amy.
