blue screen of death after installing i9-14900K

After installing my i9-14900k my Asus 690-e indicated that it needed a bios update to launch bios. I flashed my BIOS to the most recent version for my motherboard which is, bios 3603. My bio started up like it used to and I customized it for my setup and then booted. Almost immediately I got a blue screen of death, and then after setting bios to default I attempted again and had the same result. Figuring it was just the version of BIOS I downloaded several other prior bios updates in an attempt to find one that worked. After failing to find many people with my same issue I looked more into the I-9 and found that it was known to be unstable for Windows 11. I've never had an issue like this and I'm worried I'll be unable to get my computer running. Please help.

Thank you for taking the time! Very grateful. I had tried most of the things listed and updated my bios and Intel me and drivers, but still  wasn't working. The only way I got it to work was to disable vmd in Bios and then do a fresh install of Windows. Ridiculous that I had to, but it is what it is. Now I'm redownloading my 50 apps and 30 games......

try this:

  1. install latest bios
  2. clear cmos (system has to be unplugged for this)
  3. go into bios settings
  4. do not enable xmp profile!
  5. check if your bios settings are the intel recommended settings (https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/June-2024-Guidance-regarding-Intel-Core-13th-and-14th-Gen-K-KF/td-p/1607807)

you might need to manually overclock your ram, if the default xmp profile is problematic

also, it might be drivers causing the issue when windows loads, you might want to try booting windows in safe mode

i don't have anything else, i'm just a rando, hope you find a solution if you haven't already
