Hallo,

My laptop is very slow recently. According to the Intel tool is also a difference in the clock rate. To my knowledge, I have not adjusted it on the computer. Does anyone have an idea?

Hello Sywola, I was not able to see the picture attached to your post.

There is some information I will need in order to find out if your processor is defective or if there is something else that is causing the low performance.

Would you let me know which the model number of your laptop is and the processor that came with it?

Hi Sylvia,

Notebook is a Toshiba Satellite C660-1F5 PSC1GE, CPU i3 380m. The problem is that the performance is very bad. According to the Intel Processor ID Utility and Busspeed the clock is wrong. However, this in turn agrees to CPUZ. In the Process Explorer also 4 threads are displayed.

The Windows Index for CPU is only 4.5 ... and generally the system feels spongy. Just as if it were running at only half capacity.

I hang again to a screenshot of the tool and the total log.

Thank you for your help.

The support that we provide is for box products only, however I can give some recommendations:

  1. Check with Toshiba if you need to install a newer BIOS version.
  2. Intel® has a tool that will test every single component inside the processor and then will generate a report. I recommend you running the tool named Intel® Processor Diagnostics Tool. It can be downloaded at the following link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19792&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20%2864-bit%29*&DownloadType=Utilities%2C%20Tools%20and%20Examples https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19792&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20%2864-bit%29*&DownloadType=Utilities%2C%20Tools%20and%20Examples

If the case the issue persists, I recommend you to contact your laptop manufacture just in case you need to replace it.

hi sylvia,

Bios is up to date . I post the log times for the Diagnostic tool.

Contact Toshiha is not useful because the warranty has expired.

Time a general question . Is it possible that the CPU only runs on one core ? I always thought 100 % or broken.

And sorry for the English , it's from Google : D

The second tool is strangely at the right timing . humorous

thank you

Would you please provide me the complete model number of the memory you are using?

Could you please download third party software such as CPUz in order to compare those results with our software?

Hi Sylvia,

the enclosed information. CPU-Z shows the correct value.

The only things that indicate that something is wrong, are Intel Processor ID Utility and clearly bad performance. This problem occurs both with Win 7 / Win 8 / Ubuntu. From this I infer from actually a wrong operating system. Do you have any advice?

thank you

Sywola, the issue could be related with the Intel Processor ID Utility. Since you are getting the correct speed from CPU-Z and your processor passed the Intel Processor Diagnostics Tool, I really don't think you have a defective unit, however if the laptop is still under warranty and you are able to replace it, go ahead.
