hooking up a 2nd monitor

2nd monitor.

I have a "Gateway" Intel Core i3-2130 running Window 8. I have to work from home the next couple of weeks.  This All-in-One unit has an HDMI - IN port on the back.  I cannot get a 2nd to work on the HDMI, but did not think it would as it is IN.  Is it possible to get a 2nd monitor to work on this system?

 

Any help? Thanks in advance
