hp all in one 27-n150a CPU compatability

The manual for the motherboard in the subject states that the best CPU it will take is the I7-4785T socket LGA1150.

I have found an I7-4790 LGA1150 with same pin layout but higher power consumption. Can I use this higher power consumtion CPU in the motherbaord?

No, it is not just being pin compatible.   The bios has to support it.  If the manual says the i7-4785T is the best supported processor, then that is it.  To  confirm, go to the motherboard manufacturer and ask them if their bios will support the i7-4790.

 Thank you, I gathered as much. Plus, the PSU is only 120W so running an 85W CPU, DVD drive, RAM etc... does not make logical sense.
