i3 8130 with 4gb ddr4 ram and 8gb ddr4

i have a lenovo laptop with i3 8130 and 4gb ddr4 RAM, i wish to install a RAM upgrade, should i go for a additional 4GB (total 8gb )or a additional 8GB RAM (Making it total 12GB). No game work, only multitasking work. Kindly reply
