i5 10th gen. and RAM @2666MHz

Hello guys.

In Intel's site we see that all the i3/i5 10th gen. processors can works with RAM up to 2666MHz. But, in various reviews and recommended pc builds, we see that at least the half of them suggests bigger RAM speeds, 3000MHz and even more. My question is, can these processors "see" bigger RAM speeds than 2666MHz? If yes, why Intel suggests RAM only at 2666MHz?
Thanks for any answer.

Intel's specification lists the maximum speed that is guaranteed to work. This does not mean that higher speeds cannot be supported; it just means that Intel did not actually test at these higher speeds and thus will not guarantee that they will always work. They may work just fine; within reason (i.e. don't expect the processor to work at 4000MHz), they will usually work. If they don't work, it is often the motherboard's fault; it didn't manage noise on the memory buses well enough.

Thanks for the reply. It's still a bit strange to me that Intel didn't test its processors at higher speeds.
