Hello! i've been trying to fix my issue of freezing randomly during gameplay
I do play triple A games like cyberpunk, monsterhunter world, and then games likes cs2 and valorant.
In these activites I experience freeze (no bsod), the pc wont reboot or shutdown, just frozen and no sounds too.
I tried stress testing my GPU seems fine to me, when i tried using cinebench r23 for my CPU singlecore was fine temps goes from 68 to 72, but when i tried multicore same thing cpu temps goes 70 to 72 and after like 5 mins of the benchmark my pc froze.
I tried using the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility the memory stress test thing, i ran it for 5 mins after it says test passed few seconds my pc just freezes again.
My pc is not overclocked(i believe so bios settings are in default now).
recently my pc wont boot to windows if i wont disable XMP (this thing just happened today after doing the stress tests)
Things i have attempted to find a fix:
-I tried reinstalling windows
-Clean reinstall of GPU using DDU
-Windows memory Diagnostic (no issues found)
-all drivers are up to date :((
--PC specs--

Hi, Lafelios.
Thank you for posting in the Intel Communities. We can definitely help you with that.
After carefully looking into the issue, this might be caused by many different reasons. I have done some research and found some possible solutions that might help to fix the problem:
For systems build with Intel® Boxed Processors, these are the possible causes, along with tips to try:-
- Overheating: When overheating, the CPU’s temp control circuit will attempt to throttle the CPU’s clock (stop/go/stop/go) to try and cool the CPU. That condition is called PROHOT. If the CPU continues to heat further, then the temperature control circuit (TCC) will halt the CPU completely, a full stop to prevent damage. That’s called THERMTRIP and is an unrecoverable condition requiring a hard reboot (AC unplug, reboot).
- Make sure the thermal solution is compatible and installed properly. Refer to (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005791/processors/intel-core-processors.html)
- Power Fault: Power fault, lower than necessary total power supply (for example, a 450W power supply for a system with 550W of desired power). It is common to see a hang here when loading an application that causes a power spike. Some low-cost power supplies, even if rated for enough power, often do not have robust enough power components to handle a large/instant power increase.
- Memory Issues: Either bad devices, DIMM improperly seated, DIMM edge connector, or size.
- Make sure the memory is seated well.
- Try a different memory.
- Try to have a sufficient amount of memory in your build system.
- Motherboard issues: If possible, swap with a good working motherboard.
- Try to update the system BIOS to the latest version, or reset BIOS to defaults, You can also try to clear CMOS.
- Maximum Utilization:
- Examine the Task Manager to see if anything is being used at continuous 100% capacity.
- Use the Windows* search bar on your system and type Task Manager
- Click More details.
- Under Processes, watch usage by CPU, memory, Disk, network, or GPU.
- Close the application that is causing high usage, and see if the issue goes away.
Furthermore, I would like to share this link/article: (

HELLO VonM,
I was running "BurnInTest" and everything passed except the "Maximum CPU Temp" failed, it freezes my PC when stopping the task/test or when completing the test (as in it finish the test). I was monitoring the temps too via intel "Extreme Tuning Utility" and "HWinfo64" maximum is 82 and average is 78.
So before I wanted to check what is going on in my cooler and cpu socket, i tested my RAM as you mentioned that it might me a DIMM issue. All RAM are slotted correctly and proceeded to use "MemTest68" im using 2 channels/2 RAM sticks, i removed one before booting the usb and tested each ram, both passed and no errors were found.
CPU cooler: VEN CPU COOLERMASTER MASTERAIR MA612 STEALTH VEN 2X120MM)
I proceeded to pop out my cooler and saw that the thermal paste applied were fine, i found my socket fine no pins bent or any weird looking burns on my processor or something. and then i found my cooler screws/nuts were very tight, as in super tight that i need to use a flat nose pliers to rotate it and loosen it (refer to image attached for reference) after cleaning and re-applying thermal paste I ran my a game Monster Hunter World that i usually play and freeze mid game or when closing game. Ive tried playing for 1 hr and tried to close the game, no freeze so far. I would like to try my pc for 8 hrs gameplay first before i conclude the issue has been solved.
Thank you for your attention and reply btw!
