i5 4670k single core performance @ stock frequency vs i7 2600k @4.5 GHz single thread performance?

So, a game that utilizes all 8 threads at 50-60% usage, will not run as good on only 4 cores of 4670K on stock frequency?

Hi Daniel99,

Any game uses all the processor performance, then both processors are from different processor's generation, and the Intel® Core™ i7-2600K Processor has e different technology called Hyper-Threading here you can get more info about this: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/hyper-threading/hyper-threading-technology.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/hyper-threading/hyper-threading-technology.html

On this link you can find the comparison of both processors.

But the question that remains is how many FLOPS one thread of 2600k and how many FLOP one core of 4670k can calculate... (with cycles etc. formula)

Hi Daniel99,

Please let me investigate about it, I let you know the outcome.

Hi Daniel99,

Here is the information I could find to you, hope this helps; Composite Theoretical Performance (CTP)

On this link you can find the Adjusted Peak Performance APP, Intel® Core™ i5-4670K Processor is not listed there, so I recommend you to send e-mail inquiries for this unlisted processor to mailto:ctp.determinations@intel.com ctp.determinations@intel.com.

Export Compliance Metrics for Intel® Core™ i5 Processors

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/processors/000006959.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/processors/000006959.html

Here are the metrics for the Intel® Core™ i7-2600K Processor

http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/processors/corei7/sb/core_i7-2600_d.pdf http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/processors/corei7/sb/core_i7-2600_d.pdf

CTP in MTOPS = Millions of Theoretical Operations Per Second

APP = Adjusted Peak Performance, calculated using a government supplied formula.

WT = Weighted Teraflops. The APP calculation is expressed in Weighted Teraflops

In computing, FLOPS (or flops or flop/s) is an acronym meaning Floating-point Operations Per Second.

The FLOPS is a measure of a computer's performance, especially in fields of scientific calculations that make heavy use of floating point calculations, similar to the older, simpler, instructions per second.

Gigaflops = 109

Teraflops = 1012

The 1-way, 2-way, 4-way columns are calculated APP # 's for theoretical 1-processor, 2-processor and 4-processor systems.
