The frequency tested by Intel* is DDR4-2933MHz, you can safely use a lower speed, in DDR4 based on the JEDEC standard, the lower frequency you can use is 2133MHz, but it is possible that your PC does not work at full performance.
Please, keep in mind that the Intel* recommendation is DDR4-2933MHz, we do not recommend or ensure that a lower/higher frequency will work with your PC.
If you need the lower frequency for a specific task (develop hardware/software, etc) please provide us with more details so we can properly assist you.
