i7-10700KF high temp idle

This has been going on for a while but I just noticed it recently, the CPU reaches 100C shortly after turning the PC on and without opening any games; after that it doesn't go back down.

The PC has never shut down on its own, but if I try to reboot it the BIOS says the temp is too high.

Already tried reapplying thermal paste and it's still the same. I have an AIO cooler but everything seems ok with it.

I'm attaching some program tests.

Specs are:

- NVDIA Geforce GTX 1650

- 32GB ram

- MSI MAG Coreliquid 280R AIO

- TUF GAMING Z590

Hello @Zan0,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the processor.

In order to have a better understanding of your issue, please provide me with the following:

  • Try to load the default BIOS setting in your system.
  • Update the BIOS. Check with your motherboard manufacturer to confirm to have the latest BIOS version installed on your system, and if not, they can provide you with the proper installation steps to install it.
  • It is important to mention that we don't comment on third-party applications. We recommend using our Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU), this software will help you monitor the temperatures of your CPU and, if you want, you can stress the processor.
  • Furthermore, you may want to run a test using the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool to confirm the processor is working fine.
  • Make sure that the cooler is properly mounted. Is there any chance that you can try using another cooler? If not, make sure that the CPU cooler has no leaks, liquid loss, or pump failure.
