i7 12700H What should Intel XTU settings be? IccMax 160.00A? How high is safe, how low is safe?

I'm trying to get my CPU running cooler in games. It often goes to 95-100C.

How low can the IccMax go safely?

I can't find info for this online.

Also, is there any way to cap the max boost frequency?

My laptop is the MSI Katana-GF76-11UE

Hello jonnokun,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I am sorry to know that you are having issues with your Intel® Core™ i7-12700H Processor.

Based on your issue, I recommend you check the laptop vents, and the fan settings (possibly in the BIOS), and update the BIOS, and operating system.

Bear in mind that the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) is intended for the "K" and "X" CPU versions and may not work properly with non-supported processors. I cannot provide you setting for the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) since this could be considered overclocking and Intel does not support overclocking.

I recommend you check with MSI since they may need to run some tests on their laptop to confirm if there is a hardware or software issue.
