Hi,

I just received a mini computer that have a i7-13620h cpu but I didn't manage to install any of those linux distrib :

    - linux mint 22

    - xubuntu 24.04

    - debian 12.8

every linux live CD freeze or crash with cpu errors.

On windows 11 Pro ( installed on the SSD by default), i installed the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool 64Bit 4.1.9.41.W.NP and run it.

--> I get Floating Point test to Fail (see attached file)

After Googled my problem I get a post on that forum and the suggestion was to reset to factory the Bios parameters (-> I did it) but this didn't solved the problem.

I have contacted the support of my mini computer (Geekom Mini IT 13) and update the BIOS to version 1.19 and the EC to the 0.30 version but it didn't solve anything too.

If someone has a clue please ?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

Hi hashment,

Based on the information you have provided, it appears there may be an issue with the processor, as it failed the test you conducted. Given that the processor in your Mini PC is embedded, I recommend contacting the manufacturer for a possible replacement, as there may be a defect with the processor.

Should you have other questions or concerns, please let me know.

Best regards,

Hello hashment,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

It seems that you are having issues with installing some Linux distributions. For me to properly address this concern, please share the information below.

1. Have you tried using different installation medium?

2. Have you tried contacting Distribution Support?

3. Are you getting any error messages?

4. What is the full make and model of your laptop?

5.What is the system's current operating system?

I'm looking forward to your response.

Hello Jed,

1. Have you tried using different installation medium?
Yes, allmost 7 different USB key.
Linux distribution tried :
- Ubuntu 20 : crash few seconds after grub (even with "nomodeset")
- Ubuntu 22 : same
- Ubuntu 24 : same
- Mint 22 : same
- debian 12 : boot, and the install process begin but crash during packages copy, not on the same package. It seems to be random.
- W11 restoration : many crashes before a success. Many BSOD with 2 differents messages. It's not determinist.
Even if the restoration seems to have succeed, win wants to reboot every time now. So it seems to have failed finally.

2. Have you tried contacting Distribution Support?
Of course.

3. Are you getting any error messages?
I got
DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR Equal on some BSOD screen.
And PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA

4. What is the full make and model of your laptop?
It's a barebone Geekom mini IT 13 with Intel core i7-13620H processor. 32 Gb of Ram and 1To of Nvme disk.

5.What is the system's current operating system?
It was win 11 pro, but as I don't manage to restore it (because it crashes) and as I didn't manage to install any Linux distribution, let's consider that there is no more OS installed.

Hope this help.

Regards
