I recently purchased an intel i7 4790k about 2 weeks ago. However, I am getting really hot temperatures with it. On idle, my CPU is about 40-45 degrees Celsius and on load it reaches as high as 96, sometimes near 100C. I replaced the thermal paste thinking that could be the problem. It did not fix. The idle temperature inside the case is only about 32 degrees and under load, 36 degrees. So, I doubt it's an airflow problem. I have seated and reseated the cooler a ton of times to make sure it is locked. The fan is always running at 1600 rpm and under load, 2100 rpm. It's running too hot!!!!
