I can't overclock my cpu because the vcore reading I'm getting is .1v higher than what I'm setting it in the bios. So if I increase it to 1.35v it says it's at 1.45v in hwmonitor vcore reading. Which seems very high for just a 4.5 OC. Am I reading the wrong reading. How do I fix this.
Asus z 170-a motherboard.

Contact ASUS regarding their BIOS and its settings/operation.
Also, consider that hwmonitor may be incorrect.

Hello speecbeen:
Hello:
Thank you very much to Al Hill for the information posted above.
To speecbeen:
I just wanted to confirm the information above as correct, there are some tools that have misreadings.
On the following link you will find a tool to test the processor, it is very reliable, second option to the left to install it:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool
If the processor passed the test it should be fine problem might be related to the BIOS and in that case the best thing to do will be to get in contact with ASUS directly:
ASUS support site: https://www.asus.com/us/support/ https://www.asus.com/us/support/
ASUS phone number: 812-282-2787
Any questions, please let me know.
Alberto
