My specs:

Intel i7-8700K cpu [Intel Core i7 @ 3.70GHz / 22 °C / Coffee Lake 14nm Technology]

ROG STRIX Z370-F Gaming Motherboard [ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING (LGA1151)]

H110i GTX cooling

Ripjaw 3200MHZ 16 GB ram [16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1069MHz (15-15-15-36)]

Dell S2417DG (2560x1440@144Hz)

DELL S2715H (1920x1080@60Hz)

4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (Gigabyte) 46°C

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

111GB OCZ-AGILITY3 (SATA (SSD)) 30 °C

1863GB Seagate ST2000DL003-9VT166 (SATA ) 27 °C

232GB Samsung SSD 750 EVO 250GB (SATA (SSD)) 24 °C

465GB Samsung SSD 960 EVO 500GB (Unknown (SSD)) ----- Windows installed here, this is a m2 drive

What I have done:

Removed GTX1080. Used onboard gpu.

Removed M2 SSD and used 7200rpm HDD

Removed RAM and used seperate memory sticks in single array.

Removed all my peripherals.

Changed my monitors.

Redid my cooling solution on the cpu.

Formatted and reinstalled windows 10 multiple times.

Flashed Bios to newest version provided by Asus support

Still to test due to lack of resources (Will be able to test at a friend tomorrow)

Power Supply.

Motherboard.

CPU.

Current situation

After all of the above I have been able to stabilize my system by going into my Bios and Selecting active cores to "1"

Any number above this causes my system to freeze. With this setting I have been able to run windows updates and a couple of applications. I haven't taken my installation further as I want to use this basis as a testing zone. Playing around with the RAM timings and the Hyper threading setting has not made any difference.

Freeze description

Windows will startup and after 10-30 seconds the pc will freeze. Only holding in power will reboot the system. During my windows installs I had the system freeze at different % progress. Sometimes I simply reach the desktop and move the mouse around and it freezes. Sometimes it freezes in the login screen.

Solution needed:

I require my cpu to be able to use all cores and not freeze my system. Please provide assistance.

The final conclusion by Intel was that my 3200mhz ram was higher than the recommended 2666mhz that is stated by

https://ark.intel.com/products/126684/Intel-Core-i7-8700K-Processor-12M-Cache-up-to-4_70-GHz Intel® Core™ i7-8700K Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.70 GHz) Product Specifications

We are now in the process of replacing the cpu. Anyone else with issues please take note that only 2666mhz ram is verified by intel.
