I'm looking for CPU to use for simulation with Cadence Spectre. Which CPU i7-975 or i7-2600K has more efficient memory controller? Which one is faster in float point calculation. i7-975 is about 3x times more expensive than 2600K. Which advantages 975 has compared to 2600K?
Could you suggest i7 motherboard with RIAD controller siutable for Linux OS, please?
Best Regards,
Virgis

Hello; You can compare between both processors here: http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=37153,52214 http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=37153,52214, One of the main difference is that the i7-2600k will support 1333 mhz memory and the i7-975 will support up to 1066 Mhz . Also the i7-2600k comes with integrated graphics. Finally if you need a desktop board that will support the 2600k processor can be found here: http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?ProcNbr=I7-2600K&Lang=en-US http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?ProcNbr=I7-2600K&Lang=en-US For the i7-975 check here: http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?ProcNbr=I7-975&Lang=en-US http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?ProcNbr=I7-975&Lang=en-US
