Has this been fixed yet? I sure would like to be able to use my DDR5 Ram at its rated speed of 4800MHz.

Hello VictoryPete,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.

Regarding your question, there is no compatibility issue with the i9 12900K running DDR5 at 4800MHz, as this speed is listed on the CPU specifications. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/134599/intel-core-i912900k-processor-30m-cache-up-to-5-20-ghz.html

To achieve the targeted memory speed on Intel® 600 Series Chipsets, you should try the following recommendations: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000088926/processors.html

  • Use two identical dual-inline memory module (DIMM) part numbers on 2-DIMM per channel (2DPC) to achieve Intel® Core™ 12th Generation targeted memory speed.
  • The targeted memory speed is not guaranteed when DIMMs of different part numbers are connected within the same channel (see bottom left image).
  • When mixed DIMMs are populated, the memory speed may be lower than the target or the system may not boot.
  • Populating with a single DIMM per channel for either 1-DIMM per channel (1DPC) designed board or 2DPC designed board produces no memory speed impact.
