Good day Community,

Specs:

i9 13900KF

B760 Gaming X DDR4 Rev1.0

Klev DDR4 16gig 4000Mhz XMP 1

WD 512gb NVME

RX 6800

Thermaltake 750W PSU

NZXT Kraken X

Bios Ver F12

Win10 Pro

First off, all Bios are updated, latest Drivers on GPU and Mobo are installed.

I followed the recommended Wattage & ICCMAX Ampere settings from Intel in bios 125W,  253W and 307A.

Still facing a lot of instability issues, tried turning off XMP, tried all the Preset options the mobo offers, tried all the preset options Intel offer in BIOS still getting BSOD.

Temps on idle is 24 degrees celcius, while gaming will go up to +- 60 to 80degrees Celcius.

Dont know if CPU is finished or if its settings?

Good Afternoon,

I have the Gigabyte Z790 Eagle Ax with a 14700k

The gigabyte bios can be a little tricky as there are alot of options.

Youre on bios F12 correct?

Do you have all these Intel drivers installed?

Do you have XTU installed?

Is this a new pc build? Or are these issues happening lately?

More likely than not however it does sound like a memory issue. I had a friend with some off-brand rgb memory sticks in his 13900k that were causing this issue.

I however can attest that Gigabyte software is absolute crap, and removed it entirely from my system. As it was causing issues with my XTU. You can get a software called Fan control to control your fans and Signal RGB to control your lighting.

Let me know what you think, have a good one,

Good day Sir,

F12 is installed thats correct.

Have installed everything in https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B760-GAMING-X-rev-10/support#support-dl-driver-chipset

XTU is also installed, its complaining a lot about EDP/Current Throttling?? Flashing Red

It is a new build, although not "new" by today's date. And was a problem from day 1.

Had a 700w Raidmax PSU which i replaced with a Cooler Master V1000, and havent had a crash since. But i also turned down the clock speeds to P-Core 5GHZ and E-core to 4GHZ.

The ram i also downclocked to 3800mhz.

The ram seems solid, tried it in my older 3700x amd build with zero issues.

Yeah its GCC - Gigabyte control centre.

Just feel a bit robbed by paying for full performance and needing to turn it down, its like buying a porsche 911 Turbo S but with base 911 specs...

Thanks a lot for the reply, if you have any other recommendation I would HIGHLY appreciate it brother.

Like a solution to the EDP throttling??

Kind regards

Leon

Good Afternoon,

XTU flashing red? Hmm, interesting. It usually only flashes yellow sometimes for me when I am stress testing it.

I get the robbed feeling, and being a gearhead myself, I totally get the reference. Its like buying a Corvette with a inline 4 lol.

Let me be completely honest with you, I have a 14700k, with a EVGA 2080 running on a Corsair 650x PSU. I dont know how I got this to work but it does work, so I dont believe its the power supply. Unless if youre like me and you know reliable brands, I would replace it with a corsair rm850x but I digress. Thats a last ditch effort.

However, regarding memory, just because one stick works one place, doesn't mean its going to work all the time somewhere else. I have been buying Crucial memory sticks for almost a decade now and have had 0 issues. It wasnt until building a new 14th gen Intel processor pc with crucial sticks I had issues. Then the microcode came out and my brand loyalty with crucial was as I thought it was before, nothing but reliable. It wasnt my Crucial sticks it was the microcode that was the problem.

With that being said, there are a few things we can do here.

I have included below some bios settings that I have used for 4 14700k computers with Gigabyte motherboards, I do believe the 13th gen and the 14th gen processors are about the same, so use these settings wisely.

I also believe that the Gigabyte Software is crap, and before you delete it from your system, you look into fan control. I have setup the graphs to keep the temps low. It is on the last picture:

Like I mentioned before, the GCC has its own performance profile that can mess with XTU profile and create a conflict. Once removing GCC I noticed a boost in performance with no more tearing or stuttering issues.

Take some pictures of my bios settings, then go into your bios and try what I did on your system, and then get back to me.

I could also walk you through my XTU profile when you get back to me and we can go from there. I have my XTU perf.exe in the startup folder, and I have my profile run on startup with the physical application in my systray at all times. So I know its always running.

Let me know what you think,

~Michael
