I recently purchased a i9-9820x and I noticed that the BIOS reports the microcode as 00000000. I previously had a i9-7900x and the microcode was reported correctly. Also, the i9-9820x shows the correct microcode of 4D in Windows and, thus far, is performing normally. My motherboard is an ASUS Rampage VI Apex. I also created a topic on ASUS’s forums at https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?110707-Issue-with-microcode-on-9820x&s=1b060f0e0570127a44f3706f42869e55
Here is a pic of the BIOS showing how the microcode is reported:
I’d appreciate any assistance with this issue.
Thanks.

You have to work with Asus, as it is their bios.

Any idea if the microcode is possibly not fully compatible with this cpu?
Also, have you or anyone else who have used an ASUS X299 board had this or similar issue with any of the recent 9XXXx cpus?

Microsoft detects it properly, aida 64 reports it properly, and you say the processor is performing normally.
Your problem is the ASUS bios. Wait till you hear from them before you panic.
