Motherboard: gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l
Processor: intel core 2 duo e6850
The processor supports up to 4GB of memory at 1066MHz DDR2. Motherboard up to 8 GB at 1066 MHz DDR2. If I put 8GB, won't this be a problem? Will the processor be able to calmly accept this if the motherboard supports such a volume?

Does the processor have a 4GB ddr2 limit? Or was I wrong?

The processor does not have an on chip memory controller.
So, if the motherboard bios supports the processor, then go with the memory limit imposed by the motherboard.
