intel i7 13700HX processor overheating

Hey i recently bought Acer predator Neo 16 which has i7 13700HX processor, while gaming the GPU temp is below 70 degrees under heavy load but the CPU temp remains steady on 99 degrees on turbo mode. I tried changing the thermal paste but no any changes. While on battery on normal performance on e-cores the temp of the CPU remains at around 50-60 degrees but after connecting charge when P-cores come into life the temp jumps directly from 60 to 80-90 on even normal usage especially on turbo mode and while monitoring the core temp P core temp reaches 98-99 degrees and e core temp remain just below 70 degree around 68-69 degree. What could be the issue? I am not able to undervolt as it is locked by the bios.. Please help

Hello @AKC4910

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.

We understand you are experiencing thermal issues with your laptop, and we will be more than happy to give you some information.

Please keep in mind that Intel® Turbo Boost Technology opportunistically accelerates processor performance for peak loads and it does not sustain the turbo frequencies. The processor usage depends on the applications used in the system. When the processor usage is high, the temperature of the processor also rises.

Intel® Processors have built-in thermal protection. If the processor gets too hot, the built-in protection slows down (throttling) and eventually shuts down the processor.

In this case, we highly recommend contacting the system manufacturer to understand the system’s normal operating temperature range and to report unexpected behavior of the system.

Best regards,
