hi,
i have seeing lots of cpu tuning guides about reducing the voltage and temperatures of cpu. most of them suggest to use microcode 104 which shows a significant reduction in cpu temperature compared to other microcode versions at the same level of cpu voltage.
however some said the cpu temps reported in 0x104 are wrong / underreported.
can you clarify the accuracy of the temp sensors in microcode 0x104?? because these guides are still suggesting 0x104 over 0x12b for max temp reduction.
thanks,
bee

Hi beeee,
I would like to confirm that when it comes to temperature, the quality of the motherboard and CPU thermal components, as well as the accuracy of measurement points, play a significant role. Unlike voltage measurements, which can fluctuate, temperature readings are more consistent and reliable.
Regarding the 0x104 BIOS, it was originally designed for overclocking without limitations on PL1, PL2, and ICCmax, and without the mitigations we have developed. Using this BIOS version may have led to CPU degradation and instability issues. We strongly recommend updating to the latest BIOS version to ensure a more stable system.
For specific temperature details related to the 0x104 BIOS, we advise contacting your motherboard vendor, as the sensors are integrated within the BIOS/motherboard. They will be able to provide more detailed information.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,

Hi beeee,
I would like to inform you that the precision of temperature sensors in microcode versions, including 0x104, can be affected by various elements such as the CPU model, motherboard, and system setup. While microcode updates are designed to enhance CPU performance and stability, they might also alter the reporting of certain metrics like temperature.
For the most accurate details, I recommend reviewing the official documentation provided by the motherboard manufacturer. They can provide valuable information on how different microcode versions may impact temperature reporting and overall CPU performance.
In addition, could you please provide any reference or link related to microcode version 0x104 so we can verify it as well?
Best regards,
Archie D.
