ntel® Core™ i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz

cant install the drivers from intels website to my cpu. and barely can run games anymore. what do i do ? my current drivers are from 2018

What do you mean "can't install"?  Explain in more detail.

What OS version?

What device/motherboard model.

Who is the manufacturer of your device/motherboard?

Provide the revision of the current driver.

Do you have the latest bios installed?

Answer ALL questions!

 

Also, if Windows 11, your processor is not supported.

And, your processor is discontinued and not supported.

Your processor is from 2014, so driver from 2018 sound about right.

What OS are you using? What drivers can't you install? What does the log file from the installation say is wrong?
