overheating in 64-bit processor if you use 32-bit applications??

Is it possible that a 64-bit Intel processor generates overheating if we use 32-bit applications? thank you!!

And is it normal that Core i-5 has temperature above 50 degrees at idle?I use 32-bit Kubuntu 11.10 at HP ProBook 4530s.Thanks.
