part numbering

My CPU, with part number i3-10100F, doesn't work in by mainboard - it beeps 5 times on POST - but the mainboard CPU support list only mentions 13-10100F(G1). Is the (G1) critical meaning my CPU is not compatible, or is it trivial meaning my CPU is dead?

What is the model number of your motherboard?

Have you asked them what the "G1" means?

Have you asked them what the "5 beeps" mean?

Have you checked to see if your processor is supported by their BIOS?

Since this processor does not have graphics support, are you using a video card?

Too many questions before you start looking at the processor as the problem.
